Below is configuration, readed by X-CTU, XBEE v.1 with firmware 106.
Function set is XBEE 802.15.4

If i remember correct this device is not reprogrammed by me, i hope this is factory settings.

Here any detail is important , and You really need to read a lot.
But at first time - try to set both devices into "factory" state.
Next change only DL and MY - give DL_1=1001 MY_1=1002, DL_2=1002 ,MY_2=1001;
At this moment forget about coordinator - if i remember correct in this setup coordinator is important if You build net of 3+ devices,or sleep modes will be used.Now You want to replace serial cable - with 2 devices. Dont think about power consumtion at this stage, about coordinator and end devices. These will comae later.
