#170986 - new P89LPC9xx chips |
Besides a couple of upgraded "4-digit" (-1-suffixed) chips, there are two new families of the LPC9xx-s: the LPC97x and LPC98x.
At the first glance, they appear to be fairly similar to the LPC92x/93x, maybe a couple more timers, maybe an extra SPI here and there. It took me some time to find out, what's the real news: these chips work with supply voltage up to 5V (as compared to the "old" LPC9xx, working only at 3V)! NXP simply does not know how to sell itself. While they engineers appear to work hard on the real values, their management still believes in that flashing blinking technicolor stuff... JW |
