Reverse engineering a protocol that uses CAN could be very difficult. I've come across a lot of people over the years attempting to do this and I don't know of any that were successful.
Keeping protocols used on CAN in vehicles secret is very common. This could suck up a large amount of your project time with no guarantee of success. One aspect of project management is evaluating the risks and identifying ways to minimize or eliminate them. Having said that, it *could* be that they use something simple/obvious, but I wouldn't count on it. Andy |
