Hi Sulax,
As Andy Neil pointed out, How are going to send data 100kms away using a pen drive? Even I cannot imagine how you are going to achieve that? Agreed, you have a product that keys in data, and this data is to be sent to a remote unit (it can be a PC or another instrument). Rightly mentioned by you, you have to use a GSM Modem to do that. I am just trying to figure it out: how is a Pen drive coming into this picture? If you want just a data transfer, then you can use a GSM Modem to do that. I had already started a thread by mistake just a few days back. But when I searched 8052.com i found the excellent links given by Andy Neil regarding GSM Modem. I don't have the link right now, but it should not be difficult to search them. Andy had suggested using http protocol, "Jecksons Ben" had mentioned about Data call using GSM Modem. I am working on that project right now, and I will post the necessary details when it will be finished. Right now I am in "WaitingMode" to get the SIM cards configured for data calls from the Service provider. And Oh! did I mentioned it...I am using GSM Modem SIM300. I have searched for it and here is a link to that post: http://www.8052.com/forum/read/166474 Also read this post http://www.8052.com/forum/read/166563 mentioning the data call method. When my project is complete, I will post the necessary details about it. My contact details are in the user profile. You get it when you click on the link that mentions my name. If you still wnat it, here are my details: kiranvsutar@rediffmail.com, located in Andheri(East) Mumbai INDIA. You need any further details you can send an email. But as far as possible send your queries this forum, so that there are many people who will help you out and it will be a reference to many other members who have questions regarding GSM Modem. Even we also get to learn something new when read those posts even if we already know the topic. I have learnt a lot on this forum just by reading the posts. |
