Why do you believe that reading the program store data from an otherwise defective MCU will be correct?
An MCU is not necessarily like a circuit board, in that on a PCB one IC may fail, and another may be perfectly OK. In an IC, first of all, you don't know exactly how things are organized, and, secondly, it's an IC. If one part of it is "broken" then the entire thing is broken. I see no reason to believe the program store on a defective MCU is any more likely to be healthy than any other part of it. Which part is "broken" in this MCU? Why do you believe it's not the program store? That seems to "go" as often as anything. RE |
