#166585 - No problem helping people - just not turn-key solutions Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I don't mind helping people, but I seldom post code unless there is a strong reason to. And only (!) if it is 100% clear that doing so is not against any school policies or similar.
I sometimes post pseudo-code to show a concept. In the end, when people posts "gimme code", they will get enough information to get them going - if they are interested in spending any own time. If not, then that is their problem. If they do use the hints they are given, they may then get further help. The biggest problem with "gimme code" is that there are always some other (near) student who things the problem is a challenge, and just has to post a complete solution to prove that they can - totally missing that the problem was probably trivial in the first place. |
