It has only 16 output macrocells, roughly the equivalent of two GAL16V8-s - so you can't really implement more than a 16-bit shift register, which is less than needed even for the simplest form of I2S. On the other hand, a couple of 74' series shift registers might be all what is needed, plus do the rest in software. Not a fashionable solution nowadays, but might get dirt cheap. JW |
