#165055 - uPSD... not here
Responding to: ???'s previous message

I think ST's uPSD has a limited amount of programmable logic?

Yes, the word *limited* says it all. It has only 16 output macrocells, roughly the equivalent of two GAL16V8-s - so you can't really implement more than a 16-bit shift register, which is less than needed even for the simplest form of I2S.

On the other hand, a couple of 74' series shift registers might be all what is needed, plus do the rest in software. Not a fashionable solution nowadays, but might get dirt cheap.
