#163779 - Don't throw them away
Responding to: ???'s previous message
A couple of times a week I get my "tech" on by working for a small company that restores older model gaming equipment for home use.

It gets difficult finding MCU's and glue logic to repair these older boards.
There is a network of repair shops across the country that still maintain this older technology.

When a older part cannot be found I get to use my engineering skills to design a way around the circuit.

We actually work on boards that are so old the EEPROM needs to be replaced because it has expired it's read write cycle.

Our stash of old parts includes chips removed from damaged boards - marked as good until they prove bad.

A picture tube rejuvinator is one of our favorite weapons - a burn in of the card images on the phospher is a minor inconvenience our customers live with to get their game up and running.

So don't throw them away.... give them to me.
