#163280 - That's essentially what 8032's are. Responding to: ???'s previous message |
If you need, you can "make your fortune" by selling them as 8032's, provided you've verified that each component is fully functional, or fully guaranteed by you, to work as an 8032.
803x's are simply 805x's with defective ROM's. Their registers, RAM, counters, UART's, etc. must all function properly. Using "classic" cracking methods, you can gain access to the defective ROM content, though that's not likely to be of much benefit, and verify that that's the case. If you've got the means to test these parts thoroughly to verify that they do, indeed, work as they should, albeit without the on-chip ROM, then that offers an "opportunity". The obvious target for them is the 803x development board market, where there's already external program memory and no need for internal ROM. If, for example you were to build your own board with one of these, and include an EPROM/EEPROM as external code memory with a monitor, say, Ultramon51, in it, you'd have a board with an assembly/disassembly/trace/breakpoint-capable debugger on board. I'm sure you can imagine what else you might include. If you want to be "REALLY" flexible, you might consider including a BBRAM as external "vonNeumanized" program/data memory. That opens up lots of options that are easy and convenient to exercise. RE |
