#163122 - SHARP GP2D12(Distance Measuring Sensor) Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I used this sensor in my diploma thesis 2 years back and it has severe faults for realtime applications!
Its output gets noisy if disturbed, esp if you put more than one bearing into the same direction. Its timing diagram is not good either, it needs a couple of milliseconds until the output signal becomes stable and then it will only deliver an updated distance measurement about 50ms apart. This means you can only get 20 steps of distance measurements per second max. This might proof insufficient for any moving mounting of the sensor. The sensor itself is easy to interface with an 8051 though, I did with a T89C51CC02 back then. Good luck! Matthias |
