#162318 - Require a program code for serial communication...
hello,

I am doing a project on Serial Data Communication using RS232, hyper terminal & 8051... I tried many codes, but im unable to succeed.

my project is basically on "Distributed I/O system"...
data on the ports can be monitored and changed using PC hyper terminal or software such as LabVIEW... Im having a program for checking the status of the ports, but im unable to send a string from HT to controller's port...

If any one has a solution for me then please suggest me as soon as possible...
my e-mail id is sarang2502@in.com

thank u..

Here is a short description about my project:

"• The project i have taken is the pc based remote i/o configuration which is similar to the distributed control system
• Our main goal is to develop a small HMI (Human Machine Interface) based on HyperTerminal and micro controller.

• The port status of the controller situated at remote place can be altered and monitored from control room.

• The hardware is basically a multipurpose card which is compatible with RS232, RS485 and other sort of devices which can be used for serial communication.

• In this way the virtual instrumentation gives a platform for HMI. The hardware consists of the 89S52 micro controller which is mounted on the card along with IC 74LS245 for connecting the port terminals.

• The card consists of the D type connector and IC MAX232 for connecting different kind of cables.

• The controlling device like CPU or PLC can be connected for further applications.
