If you don't say what samples you've tried, and in what ways they are not "working", what is the likelihood that any other samples that people might suggest will be any better?!

Unless you have the exact same setup as the author - including tools, hardware, etc - you will always have to make some adjustments to get sample code to "work" for you.

That is the fundamental problem: if you don't already understand the basics of how the code is supposed to work, how will you be able to adapt anyone else's "sample" to match your specific requirements...
