#161841 - ISP protection by serial number... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
... does work, just after programming it into the chip, you must clear it from FlashMagic's input window, and reset the chip... otherwise FlashMagic would use it automatically to "unlock" the chip next time you attempt to read it.
But you might be better off upgrading to version 7 of the bootloader, which allows you to set it into "application only" mode (i.e. bootloader never gets invoked). You can download the version 7 here . It is a zip file which contains also the instructions. You cannot simply leave the boot block unprogrammed. Michael: Of course, there is no ABSOLUTE protection against piracy, but one shall strive to do his best, if it is a real threat to his business/living. |
