#190586 - Relay and timer?
Responding to: ???'s previous message
The protection mechanism doesn't sound too complicated. How about routing the supply through the NC contacts of a relay. Then you can use a 555 timer (I can't believe I just typed that) in it's re-triggerable monostable configuration with a time delay of 5+ seconds. Its output would then energise the protective relay and cut the supply.
