When you're just trying out to see what works ... well ... you can save a few bucks. There is a nomenclature for these, even if they are made in the PRC. Once you know it's what you want, you can order it through U.S. manufacturers. However, they'll just buy it from the same guys in the PRC and then mark 'em up.
