I need to get my 16x2 LCD display , 8KV contact discharge & 15Kv Air discharge compliant . It is behind a perspex window of a plastic enclosour and is battery powered . I have TVS protected its Vcc/ data/control bus . I am not sure what precautions to be taken with this test. I found its chasis ((frame) is isolated from teh signal GND and is floating .

Shall we connect the chassis to the battery GND via capacitive coupling? . Is there any impact on COG controller that is right behing the liquid crystals. Thanks
