When my family immigrated into the U.S. I'd never before seen a TV. I saw the coronation on the tube, though I don't remember when that was. I heard on the radio that it was in '52. That was the year we arrived in the U.S.
I'd never seen a coronation before, so it really must have impressed me, as it's still pretty clear in my recollection, albeit black and white, rather than in full living color. It was VERY impressive! I've been partial to the Queen ever since. RE |
