I do not have any clue as to what may be going on with your ISP programming setup....but I could ask this:
Have you carefully studied the conditions and procedures under which the 89S8253 is supposed to clear the signature? You would check this in the data sheet and/or any App Notes from the manufacturer (Atmel I presume) that describe the ISP programming commands and conditions. With this information in-hand you should be in a much better position to analyze your specific process to see if what you are doing is causing this sporadic erasure behavior. Michael Karas |
