#183796 - Data transmission or SONAR? Responding to: ???'s previous message |

I have an idea along the lines of having the link running down a corridor (not necessarily straight), so that it would be broken if a door is shut - thus enabling the obstruction to be detected. This sounds more like you're trying to do SONAR rather than transmitting data. However, I'd expect things to get really complicated really quickly as soon as you're trying to bounce an ultrasound signal around curves, especially with air as the medium of transmission. As someone else already mentioned, this sounds like it would be much easier to pull off by using infrared light. |
