Dead as in - in a world of certifications, you can't just work all-digital except for the smallest microcontroller devices with tiny current consumption and RC oscillator internally.
Digital is dead, since you need to use analogue methods to consider how to filter your supply voltages. You need EMI filtering of your digital signals to slow down the flanks. And the PCB routes are antennas radiating and transmitting waves. You need to consider reflections, balancing impedances etc. What we have may contain logic decisions expressed in digital 0 and 1 terms. But in reality implemented in analogue electronics. |
