The data sheet for the AT89S8253 has a pretty decent description of the SPI peripheral and how to use it. From my reading of it the use of the buffered write mode (the enhanced mode) does not look all that much different from using the write mode unbuffered.
If using the SPI peripheral on the AT89S8253 it may be well to check the version of your chips and be aware of this Errata from Atmel: http://atmel.com/dyn/resou...oc3679.pdf This Primer document from Atmel has some coding examples for the AT89S8253 including a sample for the SPI peripheral: http://atmel.com/dyn/resou...oc3655.pdf Now I'm heading out for a lunch.
