That's really a terrible loss! These guys had a thorough understanding of what is going on in (analog) electronics. They FELT the things, were part of the circuits they made. They understood what is more relevant and what less relevant in a circuit and always found a perfect compromise. Electronics is the science and art of finding an optimum balance, of taking just the parts, components and methods that are really needed and not wasting space, costs and energy. They were master in that. It was always a real pleasure to read the papers they wrote and to learn from them.

I have the deepest respect for them...
