I just noted that since you didn't mention any Z80 for Zilog, it would be a bit strange to accuse you of not having mentioned 6800 for Motorola.
By the way - the Zilog Z80 SIO was a very complex piece of machinery when introduced. It had really great capabilities but not the 9-bit multiprocessor mode. |
