http://twitter.com/mikeash Misapplied fear. What you should 'fear' is your lack of knowledge. If you truly know what you are doing there is no need to fear. The "fear of C" only applies to those that expect the compiler to hold their hand. There has, over time, been several posts "why did the compiler not declare an error on that", referring to a legal construct, from such individuals. both for its capabilities and faults what 'faults' (NOT inconveniences, NOT lack of protection against yourself) does C have? If you want something really "fearful" in this respect, try assembler. Erik |
