#179551 - Easy to chase away customers by stupid policies Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Mail a link to this thread to some ST staff, making them aware that they just get deeper in the shit by hiding their heads in the sand. Deleting problem reports is the worst way of issue management.
The beginning to the end for the Borland dominance was when they got managed by ties that decided that they no longer was allowed to officially admit the existence of bugs in their products. Before the change of policy, everything was open. People quickly learned about problems and how to avoid them. And people helped sending in reports describing how to trig the problems, so they could be quickly fixed. AFter the policy change, everyone sat at home crying and wondering why everything worked so badly. The next step was a large number of developers (at least commercial developers) moving to other suppliers. The ST license texts, their policy of removing problem reports etc clearly indicates that a number of ties are busy, while totally missing that the Dilberts of this world (their customers) may not like the treatment and may move. |
