UK readers (at least?) should note that Postal Orders over here are subject to the same clearance procedures as cheques - and can still "bounce".
Also, contrary to popular belief, a cheque is not "safe" after the 3 working days: it can still "bounce" a considerable time later - after it reaches the originating bank and is refused. I was caught out by this on ebay once when I accepted a PO thinking that (unlike a cheque) it couldn't "bounce". (in fact, it didn't bounce). |
