#177513 - USB Memory Stick Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Robert:
In order to write data to a USB memory stick the "writing" entity needs to act as a host device. The USB memory stick acts as the target device. You should probably search on this subject on this site because it has been discussed over and over again!! Also be aware that your 89C51ED2 is not a microcontroller with any sort of USB interface capability in place. So there are several qualified reasons to say NO that it is not directly possible to have the MCU write to the USB stick. There is a device available from FTDI, look at www.ftdichip.com , that you can install in between your MCU and the USB memory stick that enables your design into a USB host. Once in place you can write data to the USB memory stick. At their site look for information about the Vinculum device. Michael Karas |
