What is the voltage of the 1kHz to 100KHz waveform?
What is the duty cycle of the wavform What are the rise times of the waveform? Does the waveform have noise that needs to be filtered out? Modern 80c51 micro controllers have a timer capture and compare hardware block you can use to compute the frequency.
