#175065 - PSoC3 Responding to: ???'s previous message |
First a disclosure: I have used and written about PSoC1 quite a bit. You can deduce that I like the architecture. I have only used the PSoC3 development kit and that was when it had just been released so the tool (PSoC Creator) was in an early release. I really like it even though the software was in Beta and so had errors and lacked some user modules. You can do some really creative things- way beyond the capabilities of PSoC1 and any other processor in my humble opinion.
I had the perfect project, but even now it seems to me that there is no product directly available from any distributor or even the Cypress store. I have heard that they are sampling. Some comments from Cypress employees on the web site PSoCDeveloper.com suggest that they are shipping already. I guess they have some big customers and cannot meet demand. Until the parts start showing up on Digikey, I wouldn't consider designing with them. Cypress has a rather disappointing track record with the PSoC3 and PSoC5 deliveries to date. -Aubrey |
