#174781 - I think the problem is
Responding to: ???'s previous message
I think the problem is that people with too much time on their hands get carried away with playing silly games and politics in any sort of club, in cycling you get people who have spent their whole lives doing nothing else and you don't have to be too bright to push pedals round. So if you have any kind of life outside the club it leads to conflicts. In this particular club, cc giro , a lot of the people were very obsesed by one particular old guy so, I am better off out of it. Riding with people who don't do clubs is still fun and one guy I ride with is exactly my age so he is twice the age of the people who shout about being in the racing team and he still goes out and beats them and he gave up racing ten years ago so that always makes me smile. He got shafted by his own club when he was a very promising young cyclist who could easily have gone on to become a very strong professional had he not fallen foul of club politics.
