Please confirm voltages on the VEE output and Vo input (should be connected to the taper of the contrast trimmer).
If the display is on (see Display On command), there should be a visible change from "black" to "white" on the display as you turn the contrast trimmer. Unfortunately, it seems that this display goes to OFF after reset (so working program is needed to set the contrast). My finding is, that these displays have a very narrow range of operation voltage (i.e. the trimmer has to be turned very slowly around the "sweet point"). JW |
