#172159 - I don't use GOOGLE directly Responding to: ???'s previous message |
... and that's exactly because I don't know what the consequence of having GOOGLE's machines scouring my search queries for patterns of behavior might be. I'm old enough that I probably won't be harmed, but today's youngsters could find that their searches, tweets, and facebook/myspace entries might just be impacted by intended or unforseen consequences of GOOGLE's work, evil or not. As a result, I search through http://www.scroogle.org/scraper.html, which claims it filters your personal identity out of your queries and doesn't locally store them.
I make no claim for/about SCROOGLE.ORG, but I do use 'em. It's my understanding that this site was started some years back at University of Texas at Austin, by some grad-students and one or two junior faculty members because they had the same concerns. RE |
