#171689 - crimped wire-to-board connector Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Now this of course depends on how "nice" you want this to have, but I would use a miniature through-hole (non-SMD, I am afraid to use the word "leaded" since the RoHS regulations :-) ) resistor - or diode - crimped (using a hand crimping tool) into this:
stuck into this: which fits into this counterpart in the PCB: You can then dip the "upper" end with the part into some epoxy or so, if you need better "encapsulation". I've just tried to make one. I am not skilled in this, and had to locate the parts and it takes me time to "operate" the crimping tool properly, but the net time was like 1 minute or so - somebody who makes cables regularly must be able to churn out at least a hundred per hour. I can take some pictures in the evening if you want. As this is a keyed connector, there are 4 possible options with the diode (2 with diode, 1 short, 1 open). JW |
