#168966 - No chips to buy... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
PSoC Creator is out in a Beta format. There is a development kit that will support the old style PSoC (PSoC1) and the 8051 based PSoC (PSoC3) (as well as the ARM (PSoC5) I think), but only comes with personality boards for the PSoC1 and PSoC3.
I have worked with both Creator and the development kit and I am satisfied that the product is real. The design effort must have been enormous. BUT I am not sure when it will become reality. I was told by an FAE that it would happen at ESC in Boston, but since there was an annoucement this week that PSoC3 had gone public, maybe I misunderstood. As a long time convert to the PSoC I am delighted with the promise of the new device and its tools, but my latest design will have to rely on the PSoC1 since I don't know when I will be able to readily get silicon. You can follow the developments here: http://www.psocdeveloper.com/forums/vi...0d5bb500ba By the way, Jon Titus has just reviewed the product here http://www.dev-monkey.com/blogs/jon...hp?mid=772 -Aubrey |
