#165121 - Bsc or BEng? |
Hi guys,
I felt like posting because I need some feedback from you guys regarding the 'status' in the industry between a Bsc holder and a B.Eng Holder say, in automation an control engineering and/or an electrical/electronics engineering. From what I can understand Bsc holders are not eligible for an engineering warrant while BEng holders are. Am I right? I have successfully passed a 4 year course to achieve a diploma in industrial electronics (hence my love towards 8051 core based microcontrollers) and am currently (almost at the end) of my first year (of two) of my HND in electrical and electronics engineering, with most of my assignments being achieved at distinction level (a pain in the arse). If I successfully pass the I have the opportunity to get a Bsc. (Hons) in automation and control engineering with a 'top up' degree (from my understanding it should be another year full time) accredited from Fraunhofer. That's 7 years total of studying the exciting field of electrical and electronics engineering, which I truly love. It bugs me tough that, again, from my humble understanding, that after 7 years of studying (and practical experience, see, I study at a polytechnic institute) I would still not be eligible for an engineering warrant. I find it ironic that I'm studying 'engineering' and can't get a warrant if I choose to further my studies in my beloved polytechnic institute to get my Bsc in automation and control engineering. Enlighten me if I'm wrong. Thanks for any replies guys, and sorry for this partial 'rant'. Feels good to be back posting on this website after being absent for a while. Cheers. |
