#159363 - General PID Responding to: ???'s previous message |
About the only thing 'general' about PID is the method - the applications are quite broad. A PID controller for a robotic servo system has to be quite a bit faster than one for a furnace. Many PLCs have a PID function built in. Really it comes down to what precision you want the solution and the speed that differentiates the what unit you use.
The SP,PV and ouput will be +/-10V or +/- 10mA - you might get the +/-10V output, but +/-10mA????? There has to be a means of adjusting or tuning the P,I,D parameters. - If you couldn't do that it would be pretty useless I'd expect! Apart from the inputs, outputs and PID, you need to specify the bandwidth. |
