#158630 - as with many simulators ... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
This one is rather "half-assed." It simulates the ultra-easy aspects of the device, but doesn't support data reads, or even monitoring of the busy flag.
If one were to put a module on his 805x, wouldn't one want to be able to use ALL the features? Nobody would force one to do that, but until a feature has been made available, nobody will try it. For ages, people simply grounded the "R/w" line because they were too lazy to manage it. Consequently, few applications handle the LCD in the most effective way, as they can't directly access a single location, and can't adapt their timing to the response of the LCD. It's true enough that some applications limit the number of lines available for the interface, hence, use 4-bit access and can't monitor the busy flag for want of an available line to control "R/w", but many don't. The resulting timing issues often show up here, on 8052.COM. RE |
