You need to brush up on your MOSFET basics. The BSS139 is a depletion mode device, so in your schematic it will never switch off, as you might have guessed from the negative value for VGS(th)

Do you happen to know any other suitable part.

Try something like the ZXM61N02 from Zetex or the Si1032 from Vishay.
