#155914 - The Splitter Responding to: ???'s previous message |
A video splitter is basically a paralleled series of wide bandwidth amplifiers. A single input signal into a termination is routed to all the amplifiers and then each provides the gain to restore the signal at the outputs back to the proper amplitude. There are many chips on the market which can be applied to building such a device. I would think that the availability of a schematic can be had simply by looking at the vendor application notes as to how to apply a certain device as an amplifier. The real skill will come in knowing how to successfully produce a design on to a circuit board that produces the desired result by minimizing distortion preventing injection of power supply noise into the video signals.
Analog Devices at www.analog.com has a wide array of video amplifier IC components available at reasonable costs. As a matter of fact, they even have available a couple of devices that directly provide a splitter function within one package such as the ADA4302-4. An added benefit for you is that most of the parts can be purchased directly from the Analog Devices web site. Michael Karas |
