#151745 - Easy distribution and printing of multiple images |
I have a collection of about 200 images that were scanned from letter sized (8-1/2 by 11 inch) originals. Right now, each image is in its own .PNG (Portable Network Graphics) file.
I would like to somehow merge these files into a single file so that I could give the single file to others and they could easily view or print the entire set of images, without having to deal with 200 separate files. It's likely that anybody who wants to print any of the images will want to print all of them. My first thought was to import them one by one into Microsoft Word and then distribute a big .DOC file. That's somewhat less than appealing, though, for a couple of reasons. First the importing process would be a tedious and error-prone process (although maybe I could automate that with a macro of some sort???). Also, I think that Word might shrink the images slightly to fit within its margins, and I'd like to avoid that if possible. Another approach would be to distribute the images in separate files as they are now, then also supply some sort of batch file or script or something that would let the user print all of them in one step. I'm not real fond of that idea. Anyway, can anybody suggest a good way to do this? Or maybe some graphics file format that I don't know about that will handle multiple images? Thanks, -- Russ |
