I haven't looked at it yet, but it seems to me that anyone who's laying out their own circuit board will appreciate this, as it will enable him/her to twiddle EPROM/FLASH address and data in order to simplify the address and data line routing. Which address or data line is which doesn't really matter with RAM unless it has separate input and output pins.
When I misroute signals to/from programmable logic, I always look first if there's a reasonable to reorganize the internal stuff to fit the mistake rather than trying to fix the on-board wiring. RE |
