Hi Charles,
The devices already mentioned are switched capacitor devices, the devices I quote can be configured as step up,step down or invert. These are: MC34063API or NCP3063, these devices require only a few extra components to get them going and are mega low cost. Maximum switch current is in the order of 1.5A, so they can supply loads of current. The only downside, if you can call it that, is that they require an inductor. Cheers Jason |
