NXP has a "downgrade" similar to the older P89C51RD2 - the P89CV51RD2 - but they seem to be hesitant about it a bit. Nevertheless it has no advantage over the 'V51RD2.
You can get the singleclocker DS89C450 from Dallas in DIP40, that's about the fastest one you can get in that format nowadays. If you are after bigger FLASH and a pack of features with a more conservative 6-clocker, Atmel has the AT89C51RE2, but IIRC they stopped making it in DIP. JW |
