Wait, so I could get $150 if I post something that obvious? Maybe I should submit how parallel resistors add... Based on the authors grammar and lexicon it's totally obvious taht Erik is right. He's clearly not an EE and he definitely woke up one day and thought he hit gold. He's also not right. He thinks that his magic "formula" yields a hex value, but it does not. It yields a decimal value for the bin number at which the signal will be quantized. Example: using his "setup" @ vin=5V you get a "hex" value of 255. That's wrong. You need to convert the output of his genius to hex.
