The jump from functions to objects is pretty big! I suggest trying to clear all thoughts of C when learning Java. It's worth learning OOP as it's a big step forward from procedural design, and I think it can make you a better C programmer. Java is a good OOP language to learn, as it's not 'academic' and it's 'better' than C++.
Once you learn Java, the next thing you discover is that there is loads more to learn about libraries, applets, GUI toolkits, platforms etc. |
