#133074 - Many ways to skin a cat Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Depending on your desire to redesign the product, there are several alternatives to the Maxim parts
National make several products with internal resistor, see LM3812 through LM3815. Linear Tech make several as has been mentioned already. Analog Devices make the ADM4073 amongst other options. http://search.analog.com/search/de...e&local=en You could use any difference/instrumentation amplifier as long as the Common Mode voltage was not exceeded although these would need an external resistor. The AD626 from Analog Devices springs to mind. An interesting if more innaccurate possiblilty comes from Allegro with their hall effect transducers, see http://www.allegromicro.com/hall/currentsensor.asp. LEM also produce modules with hall effect technonolgy. Incidentally, in addition to searching for "high side sense" which tends to throw up SMPS applications, you could also try "current sense" as the search parameter. |
