#131655 - Do we? Responding to: ???'s previous message |

I'm wondering myself why, in technics, we use mainly the voltage to work with, leaving the current Do we? Current and voltage go hand-in-hand - linked by Ohm's law. As Andy Peters noted, voltage is (usually) easier to measure with a meter or a scope (because you don't have to break the circuit) - but that certainly doesn't mean that we ignore current! what is the benefits to drive data by using voltage, not current ? Actually, TTL is current driven! CMOS (and thermionic valves or "tubes") is voltage-sensing, but you still need current to charge & discharge all the capacitance that's everywhere... I know those questions are off topics So why didn't you put it in the 'Chat' section, then? |
