#131572 - ARM based micros: advice sought |
At the risk (risc?) of igniting a religious war, I am soliciting your opinions on the different ARM options out there. I apologise since this is a 8051 forum, but several members have suggested the ARM in some circumstances and since I respect their opinions, I though I might risk a flame or two.
I am considering replacing a SiLabs C8051F124 because of potential limitations in the size of the 128K Flash memory. So the ARM chip needs nominally the same functionality although I can live with a 10 bit A/D (and D/A can be generated with a PWM) and I can also live without the I2C function. A quick scan of Digikey shows that pricing is not really an issue. Aside from the suitability of the chip itself, I am also interested in the emulation tools as well as the Compiler and the manufacturer support as well. Thanks in advance Aubrey |
