I had an opportunity to play with one of these right out of high school 20 years ago. We had it set up on a 45cm thick 1.2 x 2.4 meter "optical bench" that weighed upwards of 500 kg. With a span of slightly less than 2 meters between the source & detector and the corner cube reflector (Michelson double beam type), it could detect the change in distance caused by table flex from placing a pencil on the table between the two! Needless to say, as an 18 year old, I was quite impressed! 20 years later, I cannot tell you for sure who made the contraption. You might try Coherent, Inc. www.coherent.com Rob |
