#126963 - New low-pin-count 4-clock '51s from Winbond Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Press release here, overview here. I asked for datasheets but was said they are in course of preparation; however, google helps in this respect... :-) But I had no time to read it thoroughly so I don't know what "JTAG support" exactly means in this case.
The news itself (extracted from the press release) goes: Winbond Electronics is also releasing the 8-bit LPC MCU W79E82x series. This includes the W79E825, W79E824, W79E823, W79E822 and W79E821, with the series designed for MCUs that require a small packaged size, little I/O and small Flash memory capacity. These are suited to standard industrial products such as UPS, power supply control, charger and access security. Customers are now placing samples of this design solution. The advantage of the series is its high processing speed as it can achieve up to 2.5 times the performance of the traditional 8051 at the same operating frequency. It can reach processing speeds of up to 20MHz, with 1K to 16K of internal Flash ROM and a small 20pin packaging, making it suitable for different categories of products. It also incorporates the Watch Dog Timer allowing different scheduling settings and a low power voltage reset function, providing customers with a more reliable product that satisfies the need for high quality. The Winbond W79E82x series is also designed for products that require high noise immunity. Its internal protective circuitry has been reinforced to meet the requirement of working environments. PWM output is also provided to control motor RPM ensuring optimal wear. Apart from the above, the W79E82x series also offers 4 channels ADC (analog-to-digital converter) for capturing external signals. The I/O pins are equipped with interrupts providing real-time processing response. The product's development environment also includes the JTAG emulator, software development system, compiler and supporting documentation. This comprehensive development suite will help designers to shorten product development cycles and entry into the market quickly. Choose the W79E82x series, its ICP (In Circuit Program) function can be used to update the system online through the compiler, improving its flexibility and expandability for customers. |
